Lindsay Ward

Lindsay is a Petaluma native and has been a licensed stylist since 2008. She acquired her skills through training programs with 901 academy, Salt Society, Oribe, Wella, and many more. Lindsay continues to further her education monthly by committing to online education with Beauty Coach hosted by Nine Zero One Salon in Los Angeles. She is also certified in IBE extensions. The number one requested handtied extension methods. Lindsay prides herself in setting goals and consistently challenging herself.

Her latest endeavor was taking over ownership of The Pine in early 2022. Her love and passion for the space is undeniable.

Though she prides herself on being a dynamic stylist with the ability to execute different looks. Her specialty is definitely “lived in” effortless hair. Lindsay has focused on learning techniques to create seamless color applications with perfectly un-perfect hair cuts. Her commitment to her work will be obvious within your first meeting, and her clients hair goals are always top priority.

 

Barbara Thompson

Barbara started her career in her hometown of Petaluma, in the beautiful wine country of Northern California. After ten years of working behind the chair, she moved her work to San Francisco. She was featured in 7x7 Magazine as one of San Francisco's top colorists. Barb has extensive training in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York along with experience as an Educator for R+Co. Barb is a specialist in transformation, from cutting to coloring. She can do it all.

Since 2017, Barb has owned and operated her own salon The Pine in Northern California. Early 2021, she sold the salon to current owner, Lindsay Ward. But will continue to do monthly pop - ups. She is also spear heading an education program for all cosmetologists.


Currently, Barb has made the move to Los Angeles. Following years of commuting, she wanted to make it official and follow her passions for freelance hairdressing. Now, she will be popping up at The Pine monthly.

For the past few years, Barb has been assisting Celebrity Stylist, Mara Roszak + Jenny Cho, for multiple award seasons, music videos, and photoshoots. She has worked with editorial stylist and educator James Pecis, runway stylist Kien Hoang at New York Fashion Week, and educator/visionary Howard McLaren. The latter paid a visit to The Pine in 2018, teaching a cutting seminar and sharing his insights. 

Barb’s work was published in Vogue for coloring Juno Temple’s wig pink for Ted Lasso Premiere with hair styling by Mara Roszak, the 2021 Collector’s Issue of Vogue Magazine, 2020 Winter issue of New Beauty Magazine and Oprah Magazine! Hair mecca Mane Addicts has featured Barb’s razor cutting work as well as an Instagram takeover, and beauty podcast Fat Mascara considers Barb one of their go-to hair expert.

 

Julia Rosenthal

Julia is a Sonoma County native. She is a graduate of Sonoma State and worked in the beverage industry before answering the calling of her first love, hair. A color specialist, she trained in San Francisco and advanced her craft at a top Jackson Square flagship salon before joining the team at The Pine.

Julia’s passion is effortless, lived-in color with a focus on blonding. Her goal is that you leave her chair feeling like yourself, on your very best hair day.

 

Stephanie Denison

Stephanie was born & raised in Sonoma County. Her love for hair came up just when she was a little girl. Her passion for hair led her in the direction of the hand tied extension world, certified in the Natural Beaded rows method. Each transformation is truly so empowering & life changing it keeps her motivated to be on top of all things extensions. With specializing in the method comes along with her love for “lived in” color, allowing her clients to be more free in between appointments. Stephanie strives to have every client leaving her chair feeling beautiful & alive again.

 

Darcy Mancill

With over 15 years experience behind the chair, Darcy enjoys all aspects of hair styling with blondes and lived in beachy vibes taking the front seat. Darcy is passionate about her craft and loves making someone’s hair dreams come true. With the evolution of the hair industry over the years, Darcy continues to take an extensive variety of classes to carry on her passion and inspiration to her clients experience.

On a more personal level… Darcy is an aspiring yogi, vegan enthusiasts, wife, mama and a Petaluma native. She loves building lasting relationships with her clients and is committed to the clients wants and needs.

 
 

Mila Dunn

Mila came to Sonoma County when she was 17 to pursue an education in fine art. Through high
school and college, she always found herself doing her classmates hair, and shortly after
finishing university, she followed her true passion and attended beauty school in San Francisco.
She has always prioritized working with clean & green products that are environmentally
conscious and manufactured ethically.
After discovering her own curly hair, she became driven to help others discover and care for
their curls. A pretty low-maintenance gal herself, Mila vibes well with clients looking for simple
solutions to wearing gorgeous hair every day.
Formerly an art student and painter, she also loves working with edgy and unique shapes;
shags, mullets and creative color.

 

Kristy Besse


Kristy comes to us with 15 years experience. She received the bulk of her training at DiPietro Todd salon in San Francisco and spent the last decade there as a color specialist and educator. She has also participated in continued education with Nine Zero One, Redken, L’Oréal Professional and Essential Academy to name a few. She specializes in all things hair color. From blondes, brondes, brunettes, and red heads she is passionate about finding the perfect shade for each person’s unique skin tone. She loves staying up on what is on-trend and also loves keeping things classic and shiny.

In her personal life, Kristy is a wife and mama. She loves spending time with family and friends out in nature and at the beach. She also loves music…especially live shows.

Ashley Allred

"The Moonlighter"

Many of you have known her as Ashley, a stylist of over 15 years, who's been working at The Pine since the doors opened back in 2017. Now she will be moonlighting here at the salon as "Schlee", as in Ash-schlee.

Schlee has a passion for all things creative and hairstyling has always been an extension of her creative energy. Even though Schlee can do it all she has chosen to specialize in haircutting during her pop-ups here at the salon. She really enjoys layering, fringe, bobs and especially Shags!
